ST MARLO

Played on Sunday for the first time in a long time at St Marlo.
The course is in
good shape - tees (some were spotty but nothing too bad), fairways, bunkers and greens were all in above
average condition.
The greens rolled a little bit slow and some were bumpy but
overall were in good shape.
My only complaint was the pace of play - took 4 hours and 55 minutes to play 18.
Only saw a marshal one time on the 5th hole and nothing the rest of the day.
It
seemed to be the
group in front with five (only 4 playing) and a father giving what appeared to
be lessons to a child.
Frustrating to say the least.Saw the cart girl once per nine.
This is a nice track that is very playable
(except for hole 9 which just does not fit) - just wish the pace of play was
better...

This is my first time playing the course and I really enjoyed almost everything
about it.
The only thing was setting up my tee time with a weekday any time
pass. What a nightmare!!
Other than that, the course is great and in great shape. The landscaping is
beautiful lots of water features and seemingly natural beauty inside this
community.
The layout is very good,
but it does help to have some local knowledge with some blind shots and hidden
hazards.
There are lots of elevation changes and several holes do not require a
driver.
I am looking forward to playing the course again.

Played here for the first time yesterday with 3 buddies of equal ability.
We
played the white tees and found the course to be very fair for our skill level.
Hats off to the architect for
working with the terrain and the numerous water features that really add to the
experience.
Bad tee shots were punished, while good ones usually gave you a good
lie.
Conditions tee to
green were excellent and it's obvious they pay a lot of attention even to rough,
bunkers, landscaping, etc.
Not a huge fan of residential courses in general, but
when the houses are this
nice and none felt like they were "on the course" I can't complain.
Service was
excellent, although we'd have liked the cart girl to make her rounds more
frequently.
Definitely look
forward to returning!

I played here earlier this week with a couple of my buddies and found the course
to be in great shape.
The tee boxes were in good shape, the fairways were in
great shape, very green
and with good roll.
The green’s were nice, not too firm and would hold a shot
even from a mid to long iron. Greens were rolling true with good pace.
Sand
traps were excellent as you
would expect from a course of this caliber. The practice green was large and in
great shape.
We played early on Monday and the driving range is closed on Monday
morning for
maintenance.
The pace of play was GREAT, with starting times closely spaced to
keep thing in check.
We saw the cart girl on several occasions and provide great
service, complete with a
full bar on the cart……
The clubhouse staff was excellent getting us out right on time. This is a great value and I will certainly return here to
enjoy the great course.

Excellent condition and value.
They spread out the golfers
nicely, avoiding ridiculous delays.
Would definitely play again.
