I moved to GA 9 months ago and this is my favorite course to play. It has lots
of fun and interesting holes.
Staff is very friendly and the rates are
awesome.
If you get the
chance to play Royal Lakes...Take it, you will have a great day of golf.

Played RL on July 3rd with a buddy. First time playing the course for both of us
after reading some great reviews.
We were paired with a two-some who were also
unfamiliar with the
course. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The course was in great condition and we
were more than satisfied with the fairways and greens.
Layout is great; fair and
challenging with some
blind tee shots to contend with.
Our only issues were erratic yardage markers on
several holes; some confusion as to which tee box to play on a two holes;
and a
somewhat "gimmicky"
11th hole. The 11th hole is touted as the facility's featured hole.
However,
there should be a warning of some sort at the tee box that there's a water
hazard to contend with.
Additionally,
the $12 (!!!) yardage book is so confusing that we put it aside after the second
hole.
Despite those issues, definitely worth the hike from town.

This course is my favorite to play in the North GA area because of the beautiful
scenery and the championship layout.
The course is worth playing just for hole
#11....Challenging, scenic,
and special.
You cant go wrong with the course. Greens fees are a bargain for
what you get.

When playing the course, the marshal(?) pushed with being rude !!
I never
played slowly at that time. But he pushed with unfair reason (slow paly).
I asked
to him why he push for
quick playing. After checking out the time he found his mistake.
BUT HE DIDN'T
APOLOGIZE to us ABOUT his mistake. ...I will never play the golf at the course.

Played the course Tuesday 06-23-09 7:50 tee time.
Management let 2 foursomes out
before my group because they thought my group would play slower than their members.
That was
fine because this was my 1st time on the course and I hate to hold people up.
All guys in my group scored in the 80's but the ranger hounded us holes
12,13,14,
then had the tee
markers moved up or removed to have my group hit shorter drives.
On the 14th hole
2 guys hit balls in the water (the ranger was hounding us) and he wouldn't even
let the guys drop at
the drop zone.
He said move to the next tee. The foursome behind us all had
their own charts and were pushing us the whole time, and this is a Tuesday
morning.
My group started at
8:10 and finished at 12:30 and we played slow per Ranger.
The COURSE IS GREAT
THE STAFF FAILED AND I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS COURSE.
