Played Providence on Sunday, 13June in late AM.
Check-in was a breeze,  and teed off on time.
Overall,  the course is in great shape.  Fairways are thick,  and the rough is penal (as it should be)
Bunkers were well maintained.
The only down side I can possibly bring up,  is the fact that the greens were verti-cut a few weeks ago,  and are still healing.
Definitely a minor issue,  but they're running slow and a bit bumpy.
Otherwise,  the great rate,  pace of play,  and design make this a course I return to time after time.

Providence is one of my favourites to play, especially at the beginning of the golfing season. A relatively short course... it's great for your ego and confidence.
Reachable 4 and 5Pars lead to several eagle opportunities throughout the round. It's easy to score well here, so you always leave here feeling pretty good about your game.
Providence remains one of the best golfing values around. Greens fees are more than reasonable, as are the prices in the pro shop and grill.
Tees, fairways and greens are as good as any in the area for this time of year. Greens were rolling smoothly, save for the ever-present un-repaired pitch marks (Come on Guys !!, clean up after yourselves). Bunkers are well maintained.
Pace of play is excellent here. The 90* cart rule is almost always in effect. That speeds things up considerably. As usual, Dave and his staff in the pro shop keep things moving right along.
Dollar for dollar, one of Atlanta's better venues.

Played an event at Providence on the 28th.
As would be expected, conditions were a bit soggy, however, Providence drains better than most. We were actually 90* in the fairways all day!
Tees were in good shape, as were the bunkers. The fairways were a little wet, but only in low spots.
Greens had been punched recently, and were bumpy. I guess the rains washed most of the top dressing away. Still puttable, but you had to make a firm stroke to hold your line.
Dave and his staff here are always courteous and professional... this is one of my favourite places to play.
The layout lends itself to great scoring, and pace of play is excellent. Our group made it around in less than 4.25 hrs.
Providence remains one of the best values in Atlanta golf.

Two of us played mid-afternoon on Tuesday, September 1st. We were a little surprised at the fair number of golfers lining up to tee off.
Overall the speed of play was good, however, and we finished in right around 4 hours.
If you're not familiar with this course, it provides decent variety with hole layout, is not exceptionally long from the tips, has a few minor elevation changes, and offers an overall enjoyable challenge.
Most holes provide room for error from the tee and around the greens, though a few greens require a precise approach shot.
Tee boxes, fairways, and bunkers are in fair condition for a high-traffic course.
But the greens are a different matter, with most having dead or very thin areas, and plenty of areas covered with sand to help recovery.
You might miss a few putts per round that you'd normally make on well-conditioned, smooth greens.
For the reduced rate we paid, it was worth the trip to "batt it around", but we're going to give this course a month or so for the greens to hopefully heal a little before we return.

I really enjoy playing this course. It's pretty straight forward and not very long.
I played from the tips and still hit several fairway woods off the tees.
Even still, the course offers challenges.
There are many elevation changes and up hill par 4's and 5's.
As far as the course condition, everything was is very good shape.
The tee boxes were full, fairways and rough in great shape, and the greens were consistent and receptive.
Service was great as well. They paired me up with a couple and we went straight out.
Over all, a great experience and I hope to get back here soon and play again!

The course is in a lot better shape than last year. I always loved the price to play, but last year the quality of the course went down.
I decided to give it another chance and I am glad I did.
The greens looked good and rolled true. The sand traps were nice white and raked. Unfortunately, I found my way there a couple times.
Also, the fairways were in good shape with minimal weeds.
Play was a little slow but that is to be expected with a course in good shape.
I almost forgot to mention the cart girl because she was worth mentioning.
She was very nice and absolutely beautiful.

I have played this course many times and I like it better every time I play.
The clubhouse staff and pro are very courteous, fair and friendly.
I usually find a great price. I love the many different layouts and the par 5's are very reachable in two with a good drive off the tee.
The greens are awesome except that on a few holes the ball marks on the greens are not being fixed by some players.
Overall, a great course at a super price...have fun!

Great course with great playability.
Greens are in good shape and the fairways were nice.
I play here at least once a month and enjoy it every time I go.

Played here yesterday.
I have had the same problem before as the last two posts, but once the owners see this, it will be fixed.
Absolutely no one on the course late yesterday, which made for relax free golf.
Even with a 4Pm tee time, got 27 holes in before 8:30.
My only complaint is they need to clean up the tee boxes from all the broken tees.
Not managements fault, but people need to repair ball marks on greens.
Great value, great course. I'd rather drive out here than play at Collins Hill GC, and I live right next door.

Course was in good condition and the price was reasonable.
My only complaint is the crew has no respect for the players.
The ranger never stopped if someone was about to swing...he even drove 20 yards in front of us right before one of us was about to tee off.
Wouldn't be so bad, but because of his fast pace we saw him every other hole.
Then when we were hitting our approach shots on 18, a young guy pulls up and starts walking around checking the green while we're hitting.
You'd think he would've waited off to the side while we hit...but was even standing right in front of the pin with his back to us on a couple occasions.
If I was good enough to hit him, I would have. Instead I landed just beside him.
When I questioned if they usually walk on the green while customers are hitting their approach shots, all the punk said was "yep".
 Won't be going back soon.

This is good value for the money. The course is a tee shot course.
With a good tee shot, most par 4s are reachable with an 8 iron or less.
However, number 4 has water in play to the left with a sand bunker in the landing area.
Do not go left unless you are a big hitter. Try to hit just right of the sand bunker and the ball will bounce to the fairway if the conditions are dry.
The risk over the water is not worth the payoff.
The clubhouse staff was very helpful and professional.
This is a fun course and scores can go low with consistent tee shots.

This is the best deal in the eastern part of Atlanta. Easy ride down 316 to get there.
The course is always in great condition,
and the staff is very courteous, they just need a cart person on the course.
They have water every 3 holes. Even at $40, this is a great deal, especially for beginners, not too challenging.
