MYSTERY VALLEY

Played here on Sunday, June 14. The course was extremely crowded and the starter
seemed quite unorganized in getting groups off.
It seems that in addition to the
usual play, the next
two days the course was hosting a qualifier for the US Amateur Public Links.
So
quite a number of tournament participants were there playing practice rounds
before the tournament the
next day.
Once we got started, play was incredibly slow. In fact, we timed the first hole
and it took our foursome 26 minutes to play the first hole.
We were behind a
group that included 2 women
that could not hit the ball more than ten feet each time.
They also had a small
child, about three years old, that was running around the greens as well.
So it
was painfully slow until they
finally allowed us to pass on the 6th hole.
As for the course itself, it was not bad for a course that gets as much use as
this one.
The tee boxes were a little worn, but I thought the greens were in
very good condition and rolling
very true.
I don't think I will go back here on a weekend due to the crowded conditions.
I
would consider returning on a weekday, as the course is a good value for the
money.

Played on the 18th (Thursday midday)
Pace was good until we let a single thru at
the turn then had 2 guys jump ahead of us a couple of holes later and joined up
with the single and
they were SLOOOOWWWWW. Yet another aggravation. No ranger all day.
Course and greens on good condition, but the greens are painfully slow. I
usually like slow greens but there were slower than slow. No fun.
Bunkers were a negative also, hardpan pretty much.
As usual, the staff was great. It was hotter than the seven gates of hell, but I
don't guess they had any control over that:)

Course is looking fantastic, greens, fairways, and tee boxes are in good shape,
bunkers still a little shabby,
they are really working to make this course look
good and play good.
Pub Links
qualifier was there last week. Played in 4 hrs touch slow for me but still good
pace.
This is a hidden gem, period. Girl in the grill way to slow, please pick
up the pace.
Great walking
course if you can handle the heat.

I played two times on Saturday and Sunday.. one was two or three weeks ago, and
it was raining a bit so not many people were playing,
so we went through very
fast even though we
were under a shelter due raining for 15-20min.
Last week, it's very sunny, so the course was packed...and was a bit slow, not
THAT bad though.
The course condition was quite good, one hole (handicap #1) was a bit
challenging, due to water on both sides...
The pro shop could be a bit more polite.. in fact, I arrived at the course 10 min
late.. but I gave a call 15min ahead of the tee time, as I was on the way, but I
could be late
~10min, so if
possible, could you switch my team to the next team or so?
Wow, but the pro shop
answered very cold, "No, you cannot be late, there is completely packed no room
to switch", Hung
UP...
Wooo...what the heck...
Anyway, one of our team arrived already and he started first, and other three
joined hole#2...
Could treat customers more politely..
Need to put some marshal to keep the pace.
other than those, all went smoothly..
