Although a private club, I've had the good fortune of playing here on numerous
occasions... mostly through events conducted by the Gwinnett Fire Dept.
It's always a pleasure to play Monroe. The staff treats us as if we were
members, and I look forward to every round here. Due to colder than expected
weather this day, I was forced to purchase a long sleeved shirt in the proshop.
The pro went so far as to offer me a 50% discount on the shirt. Needless to say,
I was impressed with his customer service.
Conditions at Monroe G & CC are better than most in the area. Tees are neatly
trimmed, fairway grasses are coming in, and the greens are smooth and true. A
properly stroked putt WILL hold it's line and speed. Truly a pleasure to play on
good greens. Hazards are clearly marked, and well maintained.
Pace of play is excellent, as is the practise area. Free range balls are always
the rule. The practise green is also VERY representative of the speeds and
conditions of the putting surfaces out on the course.
Don't pass up an opportunity to play here, if you're offered the chance.

I have lived across the street from this track for four years now and I think it
is a hidden gem.
I had never heard of it before moving here and I grew up 30
minutes away.
The greens are
always quick and true, and a fun layout that can challenge low handicappers.
The
bunkers are always in good shape, and the staff is friendly.
I usually just pay a small fee and walk, and would come out a lot more if there
were a twilight rate (I'm cheap).

Price was a little high but would play again sometime. Overall it was a
good time.
