Comments - Played and photographed Kingwood in preparation for the upcoming event. Went off at 10:20 AM.... right on time.
Pretty much had the course to ourselves 'til we ran into a 5-some on the back nine (#11).
Things slowed fairly significantly after that.

Teeing grounds are in fair shape, a little hard to push a tee into, and fairly gnarly on the 18th.
Fairways were in OK shape as well, with the exception that the grounds crews were aerifying the 10th and 12th on the day we were there.
Should be playable by Sunday.

Greens were in outstanding condition, save for a few unrepaired pitch marks.
They were firm and fast, and rolling true.
Bunkers were freshly raked and very playable as well.

They have a nice mix of varying length Par 3s, 4Pars that dogleg both directions (and 1 that's even driveable!), and a great group of risk/reward Par 5s.
The course was a lot of fun to play.
It's of an older design concept, narrow fairways, deepish rough, and small greens that typically fall from back to front.

Good Course, Great Scenery, and Quiet Surroundings..
...the Perfect place to get away from the city for a weekend.

This Course is one of the best courses that i have ever played.
Must move the ball left to right and right to left off the tee to have a good score.
Not very long but still you must not use driver off every tee or you can get in big trouble.
Very good course for risk reward

Played Wed.5/20/09.
Drove about an hour and 45 mins. but it was worth the drive. This course is outstanding!!
It is meticulous from tee to green. Such a well maintained facility .Lush green fairways, white soft sandy bunkers and manicured greens.
A colorful course with the accenting flowers .A crystal clear stream meanders throughout the course. Elevated tee boxes sit high and provide many scenic views of the mountains.
The greens are small and tiered. They were smooth ,fast and  firm. Approach shots were releasing.
A relatively short course (6016 tips) with elevation changes require proper club selection and shot management.
A fun layout that will be enjoyable by all skill levels. The entire staff was friendly and professional.
Thanks Kingwood for an enjoyable round!!
