COTTONFIELDS

Played 7/12. Course in excellent condition except for ballmarks on the greens.
The greens have not been aerated. A few greens had some very small puncture
marks from some process
performed but there was no sand involved and the puncture marks did not affect a
smooth roll.
Just wanted to clarify the earlier comment.

Tee boxes and fairways are in excellent shape. After today's soaking rain,
they'll probably look even better.
The greens were OK at best. Looks like an aeration of the greens was done
recently (lots of puncture holes),
and for some reason it seems that no one else who plays here fixes their ball
marks.
Lots of impact marks, and dead spots from people fixing them incorrectly.
The greens are puttable and not a big distraction, just saying that I have seen
better.
My biggest complaint would be the lack of a beverage cart.
It started raining at hole 15 of my round today, and up to that point, I didn't
see a beverage cart once.
This was my first time playing this course, and I will definitely play here
again and look forward to it.
The layout was great and made for a really fun round of golf.

This course is in really good shape and plays almost old school with tree lined
fairways.
We got a great Thursday Red Flag time/ rate as well.

This course is in great condition.
We played on the Friday before the 4th and it was slow but we ended up paying
less than the rate posted on LMG.

Played on 7/3; course was in excellent condition.
Greens were pitted slightly in some cases, but this appeared to be because
people failed to fix their ball marks.
It is one of the best values in the Atlanta metro area.
Will definitely play there often.

Course was in excellent condition. Greens, tee boxes and fairways were all
great.
First time to play the course so getting around and trying to find the next tee
was sometimes a challenge.
No beverage cart but plenty of water on the course.
Played mid morning and pace of play was excellent as well.

Played on 6/24 and conditions were really good.
Everything mowed nice and greens were great.
As mentioned, cart paths are starting to need attention, and ball washers would
be nice.
I played later in the afternoon, so I don't know if beverage cart is
happening here -
they did have water in a couple spots. Had a nice time.

You would think from looking at the Clubhouse and the Driving Range that this
course is horrible.
However, You will be pleasantly surprised when you get to Hole #1.
The Teeing Grounds, Fairways and Greens are in EXCELLENT SHAPE.
This is a scorers course. Good for the Ego because it isn't overly hard or long
and you can make some great scores out here.
For $29.00 this is WELL worth the trip.
Like I said before, "Don't look at the Clubhouse and get the wrong impression."
Wonderful course for the money.
They could get $50.00 for the way the conditions are.

Thanks to LMTTI played 36 at Cottonfields on Wednesday.
The staff is usually nice, but the course is starting to show the signs of being
owned by a municipality.
The fairways were great, but the greens needs some work. I’m so happy to create
ball marks these days and I’m even happier to fix them.
I wish more of Cottonfield’s patrons felt the same as I.
In 36 holes, I did not touch a sand trap but the greenside traps seem nice
and fluffy.
There are several tee boxes that need to be rebuilt; it’s mainly the ones on the
back nine.
I nearly took a 3 inch tee through the palm trying to drive a tee in the ground.
Overall the course is well priced, challenging and I shall return within a month
or so.
By the way, thanks for watering each hole after I left the green on my first
round,
ensuring that I played an entirely different course the second time around.

This is the best value for the southside of Atlanta.
Cottonfields has improved so much over the past couple of years.
The condition is great for every part of the course.
I play this course more than any of the other ones.
The only thing is the driving range has junky balls and not very good targets.
Other than that great course

Wonderful course to play on for the Value, and not crowded at all.
Fairways and Greens are in great shape.
Only downside is the cartpath, where on occasion you will feel like you are
riding on rocky roads with jagged slabs of concrete protruding out on the path.
Other than that, always ended up having a great time.
Greens were a tad bit soft, but understandable due to recent rain.
Keep in mind, sprinklers will sometimes turn on around the greens after 2pm.
I got soaked and also the wet greens hindered a couple birdie opportunities.

I've been playing the southside of Atlanta for the last 8 years but somehow had
missed Cottonfields.
We played early on June 15th and I was very impressed with the condition
of the course.
I had heard this was more of a "value" course but tees, fairways, bunkers
and greens were all in very nice shape.
There are plenty of issues for management to address like installing ball
washers on some holes,
fixing some short sections of the cart paths and updating/remodeling the
clubhouse, but none affect the play.
Playing on a Sunday, for under $40, is a "value"...
when it's a course this nice.

I don't know if anyone else has ever had this problem here,
but on Monday (6/15) I booked a tee time on LMTT at 4:57.
When I got to the course they would not let us tee off until 5:45
because they were having a tournament.
Why did they have times posted? They said it was LMTT's fault.
I don't know, but if your going to play on a Monday, because there are a
lot of
tournaments on Monday, you might think about calling ahead. FYI

Played Sunday 6/14. Course in very good condition.
Only complaint was group in front of us did not keep up pace of play,
was driving their carts all over the place including on Par 3's.
And the players behind our group kept hitting into us even though we were the
ones waiting on the group in front.
The course needs a marshal or two to keep things moving and
teaching jerks that don't know how to wait for their turn to shoot that they can
kill someone with their golf ball.

Overall a very enjoyable course.
Some things were broken and could be fixed, ball washers.
The people are very friendly and the course was fairly busy.
Good layout and the greens were fast.

This is a fun course. Its very open and forgiving.
I always enjoy playing here for a relaxing day. I must say though it has
gone down a little since Henry County took over.
Its about time to buy some new carts, most of them can barely make 18
holes.
I still play here weekly so I must like it.
