My first time at Browns Mill this past Saturday. I was expecting a slow round from the course's reputation but I was not prepared for what I experienced.
To start with, whoever took our tee time for 3 players wrote it down as a tee time for 2...strike one.
When we got there they sent us out to the first tee where the biggest clusterf**k I've ever seen on a golf course was waiting for us.
Tee times apparently are just a formality at this place.
I don't know how many groups were waiting to tee off ahead of us and later, behind us.
It looked like a shotgun start at a big charity event. We ended up teeing off over 45 minutes past our tee time.
After that, the pace on the course didn't seem so bad, although it was over 5 hours.
The course itself was very nice and in extremely good condition. It's a fun course to play and has it's challenges but not excessively so.
Unfortunately, the greens had recently been punched and sanded and every putt was just a shot in the dark.
If LMTT hadn't been taken away from us recently, I would have seen that and tried this course some other time.
The practice green was in great shape so the green conditions on the course came as an ugly surprise when we got to the first green.
The course is worth a second chance, and I'll be back in a few weeks when the greens come back in and give it another shot, but it will be on a weekday.
I'll never set foot there on a weekend again.

I play here often because the course is a good value and most of the time in great playing shape.
I don't like the slow play but if you go to a cheap public course on the weekend,
you should expect weekend golfers who average 100+ hacking the ball all over the place making for a 5+ hours round.
Now I am not happy with it but that is what you get on the weekend, so don't complain.
The good golfers don't play these courses on the weekend.

Nice Course. The greens are fast. Very busy when I went with some co-workers.
A 4some took 5hrs to play. We were waiting a lot. The course played great.
Can't say the same for some of my co-workers.

SLOOOOOW!!! I've played there 4 times in the last 3 weeks. Two times paid $12.50, the other $25.
Good intermediate golf course, not a beginner course but not very hard.
GREAT greens, love putting on them. There is some variation in speed, there are some quick greens.
Hard to stick an approach shot though, very firm. Course is maintained well, sand bunkers always raked,
Tee boxes manicured...fairways clean.
Staff in the golf shop are very nice and so is the marshal. However, its hard to get help from the marshal as far as pace.
A lot of slow golfers get out there, most have never heard of ready golf.
I think the golf shop over books tee times, I got there and had to wait 20 minutes for a cart and a group in front of us had to wait 1hr for a cart.
The last time I got out there, I had an 11:30 tee time and didn't get off till 12:15.
The marshal (lady) wasn't really checking tee times, almost like first come first serve...get in line.
After hole 13, I just picked up and left....it was so extremely slow.
This course would get 5 stars for value b/c of the great rates and the condition of the course.
It is overshadowed by the overbooking of tee times, marshal not really keeping people on pace,
disregard for the actual tee time.
NEVER any water in the coolers especially on the bridge from hole 1-2.
I've played twice during the week, before 12pm and twice on the weekend (mid afternoon).
Only one of my rounds was on a normal pace. I have played there 4 times and was trying to
make it my "home" course b/c of the rates and great conditions...
.But the pace is just frustrating, and I will hold out for a couple of months before I get back there.

I played the afternoon of Friday June 19th. It was very hot so the course wasn't packed.
I played as a single and paced myself on the group a few holes up so paces wasn't that bad, but I
know from previous trips this can be a very slow course with some very slow groups.
I enjoy playing this course for the most part. It is currently in good shape.
Several par 4's are shorter but some are needed to compensate for #3 and #13 which are quite difficult.
There are also two long par 4's on the back.
It is an American Golf run course, so the staff are not overly accommodating,
and the amenities are limited to the necessities.

I played on Father's day and the course was in great shape.
Greens are a bit sticky, which is nice, and the fairways are in excellent shape.
I played at 6:30 in the morning, so I didn't see another person all morning (finished the round in 2 hours 50 minutes).
This is a nice course with a decent layout, but some of the par fours are too short.
Course knowledge is a major plus here, and I think I will do much better next time now that I know the layout.
The staff doesn't care much about anything from what I can tell.

Let me get this out of the way first. If you are looking to play here on the weekend, be prepared to wait.
That being said, Brown's Mill is a great course that is wide open.
If you don't put it in the water there is a good chance you'll be able to play your shot.
The greens played slow, but were in great shape when I played here last weekend.
If you are looking for a nice municipal course for a fair price, this is the place for you.
Side Note: I know you hear nightmare stories of people getting robbed here, but I've never had a problem.
